Here we see two lines along with some divots.
The ball line is where the center of the ball would sit. So if you draw a line in the grass using spray powder or our Impact Zone Powder ( available at Impact Zone Golf world headquarters in Naples) and then add a second line four inches ahead. Now you can say your club about an inch behind the ball line. Look at the forward line and try to hit that line. See where your divot starts and where the deepest and widest part of that divot is. measure how far ahead that ball line this is. This will determine your handicap. That means if your are two inches ahead of that ball line consistently than you should be a eight handicap. If your are one inch behind that ball line you twenty handicap. Do this drill daily without a ball. Then when you hit balls on the range or during a round find a point in front of the ball and try to get the bottom of your divot to be there. Forget about the ball. Just focus on the forward aimpoint and watch your scores drop.
